I'm one of the persons that have seen the movie before reading the book so maybe this is why I don't have reprehension words for it. I didn't expect more then a movie with a vampire and a love story rolling down the middle. After seeing it all the way through I remained with a sentiment of enjoyment and excitement about getting my hands on the book as fast as I can. So I bought it and read it the same day and it made me realize it's way better but the movie was not such a disappointing in any case.
Let's think about it. This movie made someone who did not hear anything about the book be so interested in it and read it so fast and by the end be madly in love with the characters and the story itself. That's a good thing, right. Also I liked very much the main actors, Robert did a great job and Kristen was not so bad either. The story line surely could have been better, the scenes were not so connected, the character personality was not so good outlined, the intensity from he book was missing and not sticking to the story in many cases did a bad job to the movie. But over all this was a very enjoyable movie. Maybe not so much for those who have already read the book, but certainly not the hugest disappointing they were bragging about. If you have read the book and expect the movie to rise to its status then you're a fool, nothing is better then you imagination in designing the story set up and characters so nothing will even be close to what it is supposed to be in your mind.
Some said they came to see the movie with little expectation and still it was lower then they would've thought, I'm wondering what were they expecting then. and is it not enough that the movie made other people and I bet a lot of people anxious to read the book? some said the actors were to blame, I think they were good and actually am glad to have seen the movie and enjoyed the main characters because is easy to read and imagine something with a drawing already set up in your head and the faces visible and of your like; some that the effects for the movie were bad, just blur when they were moving fast, I also like to see nice visual effect but this was not the focus of the story and if I think about great movies with great actors or money that should have been over any limits and instead the simple driving of the car was made into an on set pathetic action I'm happy about the way the effect in Twilight turned out; some say the movie had too much attention to the scenery and landscapes rather then the story but I find that this was a nice thing, it's hard to only follow the story of the inner struggle of the characters and if the landscapes help to explain not only the power of Edward but also the life he's leading why not take advantage of them?
Overall I'm happy with the way this movie turned out, even after reading the book, it could have been definitely better, maybe some more parts of the story being actually evoked and not replaced or changed but I think(hope. the writers and director will do a better job for the next ones. Or at least I'm happy I discovered a really good story and will certainly enjoy the rest of the books as I read them.
